Stone experts Cerrig use water jet technology to help create Antarctic Memorial for St Paul’s Cathedral.
“A memorial to those who died in pursuit of scientific research in the Antarctic, which is being dedicated in St Paul's Cathedral London on Tuesday 10 May, was created with the help of ‘Cerrig’, the Pwllheli - North Wales based stone engineers and supplier. Cerrig was appointed by the British Antarctic Monument Trust to cut and prepare an 1200mm diameter slab of riven Welsh slate and inset into it the Antarctic peninsula cut from white Carrara marble, using the company's precision water jet technology.”
Cerrig Create Falklands Memorial to HMS Glamorgan
“Architect Dewi Hughes designed the memorial, the stone was cut by Trefor Davies at a quarry near Pwllheli and transported to the nearby workshops of Cerrig Limited, owned by Glyn Williams. The engraving was carried out by Welsh sculptor Josh Tomas.
The memorial is now located at Hookers Point, close to where the Exocet was fired, and will be unveiled this month.”
North Wales Based Company Wins Prestigious Welsh Assembly Contract
“Cerrig Ltd, the Pwllheli based family owned company, has been awarded a 1.5 million pound contract to fabricate, supply and manage the installation of Welsh slate cladding to the exterior of the new Welsh Assembly Headquarters.”
